Thanks to MathEnglish Academy, I scored a 1530 on the SAT on my first try as a freshman. Prior to attending Dr. Li’s program, I knew nothing whatsoever about the SAT, and after four weeks studying with Dr. Li, Dr. Thomson, Dr. Virtue, and Dr. Granger, I was able to achieve my goal. The in-depth analysis and practice of the different SAT question types familiarized me with common standardized test problems. Learning about the influence of Greek and Latin elements on words during vocabulary class was especially appealing to me, and certainly improved my vocabulary score as well as my paper-writing skills. I also greatly enjoyed math class, and Dr. Li's expert style of teaching solidified my mathematical knowledge - and got me a 790 on the math section of the SAT! The weekly mock tests were designed to be more challenging than the Digital SAT itself, but were very useful in gauging my progress, identifying what specific question types I needed to work on, and preparing me for the SAT's time constraint. I look forward to returning to the Academy for future classes and I’m glad to have had the opportunity to gather knowledge from the amazing teachers here. I thoroughly recommend attending Dr. Li's SAT prep summer programs to any student who's preparing for the SAT, or anyone who wants to learn more, challenge themself, and keep their brain fresh over the summer.
